To automate data collection and GIS analytical routines using Python, and to recommend more efficient analytical procedures.
Wrote Python programs to perform SSURGO ID extraction (MUKEY) for over 100,000 agriculture points across ten states in the U.S. Midwestern region. Automated the aggregation, resampling, and calculating of NASS crop-type data to obtain 250 meter cells overlapping exactly with MODIS EVI data and containing percentage of pure crop-type across the same ten-state area. These analyses will contribute to the climate change modeling being conducted at NREL.
