Floodplain Reduction Modeling

Save the Poudre: Poudre Waterkeeper, 2012

Objective:

To model floodplain polygons based on elevation reduction scenarios, beginning with the 100 year floodplain for the Cache la Poudre River, and calculate related wetlands metrics.

Result:

Polygons representing floodplains at half-foot decrements in elevation based on the 10 meter National Elevation Dataset and Euclidean allocation calculations along with the quantification of wetlands statistics within these modeled floodplains.
